What an Honor!
We just got the greatest news! The Readers of Minnesota Monthly voted Blowdry! Blowdry Bar as the “Best Blowout” in their 2013 Best of the Cities issue. And in more great news, they chose our sister salon HAUS Salon as the “Best Salon” in the Cities as well! We are so grateful to our clients, to the readers and to Minnesota Monthly for these awards and so proud of our incredibly talented teams who made this happen.
...and on to more fun news...
CHARLIE'S TRIP TO NY FASHION WEEK
Charlie Brackney, co-founder of both Blowdry! Blowdry Bar and HAUS Salon, had the honor of being asked to go to New York Fashion Week by the folks at one of our favorite product companies: Number 4 High Performance Hair Care. (It’s our favorite product line at Blowdry!) It was such a wonderful trip filled of lots of exposure to some incredibly inspirational hair and fashion. Here a few snapshots and hilights from his trip…
Here is Charlie outside the Birchbox Local Event that he did in New York. If you’re not familiar with www.birchbox.com, then you should be! It’s a really cool monthly beauty sample subscription service. Who wouldn’t want a box of luxury size samples of fab new products to play with every month? Charlie did an event with Birchbox and Number 4 Hair Care while he was in New York. Fun!
The crown braid was EVERYWHERE at this season’s NY Fashion Week. Here’s one that Charlie created on one of the Birchbox staffers!
Charlie also had the privilege of styling one of the most amazing shoots he’s ever worked on. It was for a fab shoe company called solestruck, whose mission is to “rid the world of ugly shoes.” A noble mission, indeed! The shoot has not yet been released, but when it is you’ll be able to find it in their lookbook section here: http://www.solestruck.com/lookbook/
MODERN TAKE ON A CLASSIC BUN – DIY
Here are some before and after examples of a style created by Charlie while he was at Fashion Week in New York. It is a modern take on a classic bun. How can you do it? Start with a classic, sleek, low ponytail. Do a simple 3 strand braid, pull the braid apart, loop it around and pin it into an interesting shape and Voila!
Charlie covered all of this and more on Cities 97 radio this morning with Brian Oake and Keri Noble. Thank you Cities 97 for letting Charlie share his stories!
