WHAT IF I AM RUNNING LATE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

If you, a part of, or all of your party is running behind on the day of your appointment, please immediately call us at 612-824-4878. We may need to abbreviate some services when you arrive, depending on how far past the service start time we are.

WHERE DO I PARK?

There are several meters in our Uptown neighborhood. You can pay for the meters with quarters, dollar coins or a credit card. Complimentary parking is available in the parking lot of the clinic across the street from us. Just make sure you’re in the spots facing us that say “Lumen on Lagoon.” If you still can’t find parking, there are several other parking lots and ramps within the 3 block radius of the salon.

WILL WE ALL START AND END AT THE SAME TIME IF WE ARE PART OF A LARGE GROUP?

Each guest's start and end times may vary, though we do try to keep everyone in a group as close together in proximity and in time as is possible. Your group is welcome to relax and hang out together throughout the salon, even if some are finished with or waiting for their service.

CAN WE BRING WINE, CHAMPAGNE OR SNACKS TO OUR APPOINTMENTS?

If you are bringing in a large group such as a bachelorette party, wedding party or girls' night out, yes! Aside from leaving with great hair, we want our guests to have fun and be comfortable. While we cannot provide alcohol for our clients, if you would like to bring in your own wine, champagne or other snacks, we encourage you to do so. We’ll even provide the plates and glasses!

CAN WE PAY SEPARATELY IF WE ARE PART OF A GROUP?

We take payment for large groups of 4 or more in just one total check. We accept cash and all major credit cards. We do not accept personal checks. A deposit is required for groups of 4 or more when scheduling and a 20% gratuity will be automatically included in the check total.

Group cancellation policy:  If the group cancels within 2 weeks of the party, the deposit is non-refundable.  If anyone from the group cancels their single appointment within 1 week of the party, you will be responsible for paying for their time slot.

DO I NEED A DEPOSIT IF BOOKING A LARGE GROUP?

At Blowdry, we require a a deposit for group bookings of 4 or more and a 20% gratuity will automatically be included in the total. To receive a full refund, we require a full 48-hour notice if canceling your group.

DO YOU HAVE SPECIAL DEALS FOR BRIDAL PARTIES?

We offer several bridal packages at Blowdry! Our Bridal Updo Package is $150, our Blushing Bride Bridal Makeup Package is $110 and our Bridal Airbrush Makeup Package is $140. Packages include a trial run and also a service on the day of your wedding. Packages are purchased the day of your trial. Packages do not include gratuity or faux lashes, which are a $10 add-on to any makeup service. Please bring inspiration photos of makeup, hair and your dress to your first trial appointment. This helps us create a vision for your look together. We do not offer any additional discounts for large groups, as our prices are already very competitive.

can i schedule a large group or wedding party?

Blowdry! is the perfect place for a group of women to have fun and look fabulous…together. To get you all in at the same time, call ahead and make a block of appointments. Bachelorette parties, bridal parties, or simply a girls' night out are all part of the fun at Blowdry! Email Us to schedule your appointments or call the salon at 612-824-4878. If the block of appointments is available, we will hold the appointments while the details are finalized. To confirm the booking, we will need the following for each member of your party: 1) First and last name 2) Phone number and/or email address and 3) Service(s) each person is receiving. A deposit is required for groups of 4 or more. Payment will be taken on one total check and a 20% gratuity for the group is included in the total.

HOW FAR AHEAD should i schedule my large party?

Blowdry books up very quickly on the weekends. Especially for larger groups, we recommend contacting us 4 or more weeks before your planned event.

WHAT IS A BLOWOUT?

At Blowdry! we shampoo your hair (amazing head and shoulder massage included), then blow it dry with round brushes into a gorgeous style that will likely last for several days. Our techniques with hair dryers, brushes, irons, and products seal the hair cuticle, leaving hair shiny, bouncy, swingy, and simply gorgeous until you wash your hair again. Perfect for a special event, a big date (or after a bad date), an afternoon out with girlfriends, or as a confidence boost in preparation for a big week at work. The blowout makes your hair look and feel terrific, which makes you feel pretty terrific too.

DO YOU OFFER HAIRCUTS?

No, darling. We don't cut or color hair at Blowdry! It's true. You can keep your favorite stylist or colorist and come to Blowdry strictly for a fabulous blowout. Many of our blowdry artists are stylist and colorists in other salons, so if you fall in love with your blowdry artist, we encourage you to inquire about a cut or color in their other salon. Or check out our award-winning sister salon HAUS Salon in South Minneapolis and the North Loop for haircuts, color or spa services.

CAN I REQUEST A SPECIFIC STYLIST?

Sure. You can request a stylist by name if you have a favorite. Otherwise, we encourage you to choose the time that works best for you. Any and all of our stylists are fun and will give you a fabulous blowout.

HOW LONG CAN I EXPECT MY BLOWOUT TO LAST?

Your blowout will likely last you several days before you need to wash your hair or come back for another blowout at Blowdry. Some tips to prolong your blowout are to keep your hair dry and out of the rain, sleep with a satin pillow case to minimize morning bed-head, wear a shower cap in the shower, and go easy on the sweating. You can freshen your blowout by blasting your roots with a hair dryer (even though your hair is not wet) to minimize any buildup of oil on your scalp. Dry shampoo is a perfect solution to extending your blowout too. Sprinkle or spray some on your scalp to absorb oils, and then brush it out. The length of time between shampoos also depends on your hair type. Blowouts for coarse, thick, or curly hair tend to last longer than for very fine or oily hair.

CAN I BRING MY DOG TO BLOWDRY?

We love cute little dogs - we really, really do! Unfortunately having pets of any kind in any salon in the state of Minnesota is against State Regulations so...no pets allowed. If your dog is a guide dog, please bring along the official paperwork, and we will happily oblige. Thank you for understanding.

WHAT IS THE KERATIN SMOOTHING TREATMENT?

We offer the Keratin Smoothing Treatment, a treatment for the hair that reduces frizz and curl for 3 to 5 months. The treatment restructures hair by infusing a special blend of natural keratin deep into the cuticle, making the hair more manageable and take much less time to style. It will be noticeably softer and straighter, with added life and shine. The service takes about 3 to 4 hours, depending on hair length, type, and texture and costs $300 for short hair / $350 for long hair. Call to schedule a complimentary consultation.

HOW LONG SHOULD MY HAIR BE FOR WAXING SERVICES?

Hair length for waxing should be at least 1/4" in length so the wax can fully adhere around the hair follicle so it can be effectively removed. In general, it takes about 3 to 4 weeks of growth to reach 1/4" in length, depending on the individual.
